Weekend in iPod pictures

We had a super duper busy weekend full of no naps and lots of running but it was so worth it! We spent time with family and got to see friends we haven't seen in a while. We finished laying our new wood floors, attended a Candyland party, visited with Pawpaw and just spent time together as a family!

Its Ok Thursdays

Hey y'all! I am linking up for the first time with Neely for "It's OK Thursday's!" Well, it is OK that....
  • I hid from the mail person bringing my package from B&N because I was laying on the sofa watching re-runs of Desperate Housewives.
  • I paid the first bill since Josh and I got married without him having to ask me to.  Lol!  He always handles bills and money.
  • I spent way more than I was going to on a baby gift for a great friend!  But it is so darn cute!  Pics of that after her shower this weekend.
  • I have about 3 loads of laundry on the love seat that needs folding.
  • That I went to Home Depot and grabbed several wood, carpet, and paint samples this week.  Hey, their FREE!  And I want to use them in Tot School with Tempe.
  • That I am so excited about Saturday because it is going to be cool and I can FINALLY wear my new boots, skinnys, and scarf!!!
  • That I had to put a swim diaper on Tempe the other day because I ran out of normal diaper and was getting tired of paying $20 for a pack of diapers to last a week when I can spend the same amount at Target and they last a month! (I did go right then to get diapers at Target)
Thanks for reading my FIRST link up!!  Be sure to write your post and link up!!! :) Have a wonderful day y'all!!!

Words

Words, they can be as simple as just one letter or very complex.  One word can take on many different meanings based on its context and tone of usage.  Tempe is starting to talk up a storm and say so many new words.  She is copying everything she hears.  Here is a list of words I could think of that she is saying on her own.  I know there are more but it is hard to sit down and think of all of them! (you may see me add to this list for my records)
  • Mommy
  • Daddy
  • hey there
  • belly
  • baby
  • Nanny
  • Poppy
  • Maw maw
  • Paw paw
  • Gigi
  • Blue's Clues

Words can be uplifting and inspiring or very hurtful.  I know I have been on both ends of both of these scenarios.  I always try to say things that are uplifting but sometimes slip and say something that may hurt someones feelings.  Just the same I have had people people say things that have made my day better and have had some people say things that were very hurtful.  Just the same you can write things and the words you use effect someones feelings about you and that subject.  My prayer is that God will guide me to teach Tempe how to use her words in both spoken and written language so that they will be uplifting to those around her and that He will show me how to be a good example of this.

And I can't leave you without a picture of my chatter box herself!

This is her dot painting, more about that on our school blog!

I'm BACK!!!

Hi y'all!  Yep, I am still alive! Ha!  Don't ask me why I haven't blogged.  I really don't know.  Lol!  But I am back and that is all that matters.  So much is going on and so much has happened that there is no way I can catch you up on it all so we are going to just start from here.  :)

I have really been into upcycling and redecorating my house over the past couple of months.  I have been going to Goodwill, yard sales, and thrift stores finding things and using them in new ways.  Spray paint has become my new BFF!  I am surprised Lowes hasn't called someone to report me for buying so much of the stuff.  Here are a few goodies I found today at GW.

That is a Melissa and Doug clock and black cauldron.  The clock was missing the 5 and I looked that store over for it and couldn't find it so they gave it to me half price, $1.50.  Josh has already said he could make me one!  Score!

If you follow me on FB you might remember that the Leprechaun came to visit Tempe on St. Patty's day.  I looked then for a black pot and knew I wanted one of these trick or treat buckets for that purpose.  It was on my list to buy this Halloween so you know I was stoked when I saw this on the shelf of Halloween goodies for a buck.

Tempe is doing great!  Growing too fast.  She is repeating and coping everything someone says or does.  She likes to list us and her grandparents.  You will catch her playing and she will all of a sudden start saying "Mommy, Daddy, Maw maw, Paw paw, Nanny, Poppy, etc."  She likes to do this when she is talking on her phone.  I like to believe she is saying her prayers because the first time she did it she was laying down to go to sleep.  She also has a bear that sings "Jesus Loves Me" that the carry's around and sings with.  She is such a sweet girl and I couldn't be more proud of her.

I can't wait to get back into blogging and recording our life's events.  I hope you will follow along with me on the journey!
