Pools!

At the yard sale on Saturday we put Tempe in a little Tupperware box with water to cool her off and she just splashed and played.  She LOVED it!  So we said that we would buy her a pool.  I went to Wal-Mart and found one but I am so afraid of putting her in them that I thought and remembered I had a little ducky blow up bath tub that I had bought for $1 at a yard sale!  So we came home and I used it.  She had so much fun in it!  She cant really move around too much but she can splash and I feel a little better with it.  Maybe after a few times I will be more comfortable with it and buy her one of the other ones but I think for now this will work just fine.

Busy Weekend

Boy did we have a busy weekend!  We had a yard sale on Saturday morning and then went to a birthday party on Saturday evening.  I like to have yard sales.  I do not like the setting up and taking down but everything else is fun.  I like to talk to people and try to sale them things.  Haha!  Most of the time I do pretty good too!  This one was H-O-T though!!  But it didnt stop people from coming.  And it was nice to sit under the tents and talk with everyone.  We always do them as a family so that makes it more fun too.

Just some of our "treasures"!

Then we rushed to Miss. Makenzie's third birthday party which was Zebra themed!  It was so cute!

Yummy cake!!

On Sunday we just had a relaxing day of church, lunch, and naps!!  Josh was off so it was nice to have a Sunday just how Sunday's should be!

What a day!!

What a day!  Tempe didn't sleep too well last night.  I think her teeth are bothering her again.  So we slept in.  Which means we were not able to go to Story Time like planned.  Josh watched her while I went and bought groceries.  When I got home he said "Mommy bought everything whole wheat".  I laughed at him and said yes and we are going to start working out together too.  He didn't say much to that.  Haha.  I also made green bean baby food today.  Tempe loved it of course.  She is something else I tell ya.  We are having a yard sale on Saturday and loaded everything up today.  I hate having yard sales.  I love to go to them but don't like having them.  Too much work for no more money than you make.  I just hope it goes well.  That was about it.  Hope everyone has a good Friday and be safe!

A week of happenings!

WOW!  What a week it has been!!  Oh Friday we went to another Grasshoppers game.  This time Josh got to go with us.  We had a lot of fun.  They didn't win but it was still good fun with Aunt Kristen and her family (which is like our family).  This time we got to see the fireworks too!  They were awesome!!!

Our family at the Hoppers game!

Then on Sunday we went to the zoo again but this time with Nanny and Poppy!  It was so nice to get away and go.  We got up really early and went down and took a chicken picnic lunch.  Tempe was wonderful once again!
Riding the carousel for the first time at the zoo!

At the zoo!

She also got to ride the carousel!  I questioned doing this because of her size but they had little seat belts on the animals and I held her really tight and she loved it!  She would close her eyes and just smile!

On Monday we took off to Raleigh and went to the Museum of Natural Sciences.

We saw all kinds of fun stuff!!!  It was awesome!  My favorite was the Dino's!  And they had an area upstairs that was all large animals.  Ones that were unusually large and it was fun for Tempe because they had a lot of interactive things and it was bright colors.

On Wednesday we had a day at the park with Mrs. Leslie for her end of year School Readiness Program get together.  Went went with Mrs. Andrea and her kids.  We had so much fun there too!  We got to see the animals and ride the carousel and train again.  They had it set up where we were able to go in and see animals up close and pet them.  Tempe didn't pet because of putting her fingers in her mouth but it was neat to see them and she watched them.

On Friday we went to a bridesmaids luncheon for Aunt Hilary.  And then headed to Browns Summit for there wedding.  It was a great day and touching service.  It was busy but we really enjoyed seeing everyone.  They all talked about how sweet and such a good baby Tempe is.  And she was.  She did great.  Jennifer, William's wife, held her durning the service and I not once heard her cry.  Those pictures will come later when they get back from their honeymoon!!

On Monday we went to the lake for a little bit and had a picnic with Maw maw and Paw paw.  We played on the porch while Daddy fished.  We also found some eggs in a whole in the ground.  We aren't sure what they are though.  I just hope they are not snake eggs!!  Haha!

As you can tell we had a busy week!!!  But we like to expose Tempe to new and educational things all of the time.  She is never pushed so hard to go that she gets upset or misses naps and bottles.  There is a fine line between the two I feel like.  As much as I like to go and do with her I try not to push it too much and over stimulate her at one time.  I promise as soon as I get pictures from the wedding I will post those!! And I know there will be some good ones because the photographer took Josh, Tempe and I out and did a bunch of just us.  :)  I am so excited and cant wait.  I hope everyone has a great few days and I will try not to go as long this time before posting again!!!

Big girl drinks!!!

I had to take Tempe to the doctor today.  She has been having redness and little bumps under her right eye for almost a week.  Of course by the time I got there is was gone.  We think it might be from her squash baby food.  We are going to hold off on the squash for a month or two and see if that helps.  Tonight we went and ate Mexican with Nanny and Poppy.  Tempe has learn how to drink from a straw!! Haha!  She did it a few nights ago but tonight I got it on camera.

I have been thinking about starting her on a sippy cup.  Not sure yet about that though.  What are your thoughts on it?  I really am thinking about it.  I want her to be able to move from her bottle easily when she is older.  We have also been thinking about getting her ears pierced.  Not sure on that one yet either!  We will see.

Christenig

It has been a while!  We have had a lot going on in our lives the past week or so.  Tempe got Christened!!!

The service was beautiful.  Pastor Matt did a great job.  Tempe was pretty good.  She did get a little fussy but it was OK.  She was so beautiful.  I also joined the church the same day.  We had lunch at our house afterwards with the whole family.  It turned out really nice.  I had made a Blessing Jar for her.  Each person wrote a little letter to her and placed it in the jar for us to keep in her room so that she can read those encouraging words and know how much she is loved.
We also took her to the park for the first time!  We had so much fun!  She took a train ride, saw the animals, and had a picnic.  It was a great day just Tempe, Josh and I as a family.

We also had another coffee date with Andrea and Bailey this week.  The weather was so nice that we decided to take a stroll through town to see the pigs in town.  The pigs are works of art that the city puts out each year.  Business get a pig and decorate it however they like.  There were only 2 pigs out though!!  We were so sad!

White Mocha

This morning we met our friend Andrea and her baby Bailey at the Black Chicken in town for a coffee date.  We got coffee and went to the book store next door and the school supply store.  After that I cleaned ALL day!  Why is it you clean and clean and it never looks clean?  HA!  At least most all of the laundry is finished and put away and the bathrooms are clean.  I did clean the rest of the house but you cant tell!  I am getting ready for Sunday and Tempe's Christening.  It seems like I am more nervous about this than I was when I got married and gave birth!  I am not sure why either.  Its not that big of a to do but I guess is a big deal to me.  I just hope all goes well.  I am also getting ready for her party afterwards.  And you know me there is always something creative and involved with it!  This time I am hoping people will write a letter to Tempe and just tell them of their wishes and dreams for her.

Tea Party

This morning we had a tea party in the living room!  Tempe had so much fun!  She kept putting the tea cup into her mouth and chewing on it.

Then this afternoon we helped Daddy plant a garden in our side yard.  We planted squash, tomato's, strawberry's and peppers.

Tempe in the garden
Not much has happened the past two days.  We went to church yesterday and then to a cook out for Uncle Johnny's birthday.  Today we stayed home all day and cleaned then went out to eat and Walmart.  Tempe is now eatting peas and loves them!  This is the Bible that she got for homecoming a few weeks ago at chruch.

This week we are working on getting things ready for Tempe's Christening.  We are so excited!  She is ready to crawl too!  She is rocking back a forth a lot and wants to go so bad she cant stand it!  Soon I hope! :~)
