My first blog award!!

I received this award from My friend Andrea over at Andrea's Mommyhood Adventure with it I am to tell seven things about myself and then pass it along.  So here goes.  Seven things about me...

1) I love sleep!!  I always have and always will I guess.  I think Tempe will too.  She sleeps about 12-13 hours a night and then takes two two hour naps.

2) I did not graduate college.  This is something that I will always regret.  I have less than one semester left to have my degree.  But after changing my mind several times and then due to other things that happened that required me to work full time I did not finish.  I could always go back but right now that would take away from my family time and I am not ready for that.

3) I am a junk food junkie!  I love candy.  And cookies.  Anything sweet.

4) I hate being thin.  I feel unhealthy.  And it has caused health issues in the past.

5) I take anti-depressants.  That is all you need to know about that one.

6) I became a Christian at the age of 13.

And lastly 7) I am allergic to the sun.  Have been since I was a freshman in HS.

Calling

Do you know what your calling is?  Do you know what it is God put you here on earth for?  I truly believe that we all have a calling.  Something we are good at.  Something we love to do.  It may be building things with our hands, cooking, working with children, budgeting.  It can be just about anything.  We all have something we do best.  Notice I said we do best.  Not we are the best at.  We do our best at it.  And are usually pretty good at it.

I have been lead for many years to believe that my calling is working with children.  I tried this for about seven years while Josh and I were not in a home church at preschools.  Something just wasn't right for me.  I wasn't allowed to tell my children about God.  How can we not tell our children about God?  He created everything!  So... to suck up my nervousness and try something new I attended a Children's Committee meeting last night at church.  And let me just say...it was GREAT!  No we didn't talk all "fun and games" but I got so excited about what is to come.  I was asked to help in the preschool Sunday school class that I said yes without even thinking.  Now I will be the first to tell you I don't know it all.  I don't know a lot about the Bible and God.  I missed a lot of that growing up.  My parents taught us but I was so young that a lot of it didn't stay in my memory.  But I can not get this off my mind!  I have this peace over me.  I am not the least bit nervous about it.  And that is very unusual for me.

Sweet Summer Time

I LOVE summer time!!  That is why I havent been doing too well with updating.  It seems every second of every day is filled with fun things to do!  We have been going to museums, parks, swimming, and a lot more!  I have said it before and will say it again, it is so important to me to expose Tempe to many different sounds, taste, smells, sounds, touchs.  Here are some photos from the last few weeks...

A trip to the Children's Museum

This is of course only a couple of pictures but it is time to get up and get ready for the day!  I have started a new routine for myself that includes updating every night so I hope that you will keep up with us as I go on this journey as a wife and mother in a thing I call life!!!
