It was a great first Mothers day. I have waited for this day for a long time. I got the sweetest card from Josh and Tempe and then flowers from church and Laken and Lorelei gave me a rose. Josh and Tempe gave me my necklace a few weeks early! We enjoyed the morning at church, lunch at KFC with my family at my mom's, and then supper with Josh's family at Mi Casa. I could not think of a better way to spend the day!

On May 5th Tempe and I started the Parents as Teachers progam. This program sends a teacher to your home once or twice a month to bring activity's and infomration to you. It is run through the school system and I am very happy that we are taking part of it. It is a good way to get new ideas and find out new information. They also have group meetings for you to attend where you meet other mom's and their children. It is good to have another adult that Tempe can interact with. This meeting was really just a get to know you meeting but Mrs. Leslie gave Tempe a book, me a bunch of interesting information and two activity's to do with Tempe. We are working on taking turns by each of us taking a turn playing with a toy and talking about how we are taking turns and how important it is. We are also working on cause and effect by Tempe dropping balls into a metal mixing bowl and hearing how when she drops it it makes a sound. She is doing really well with this already and loves to play it. We play it at least once a day! I cant wait until our next meeting to see what she has in store for us. Although I worked with preschoolers for a while it is nice to have someone to share new activties with me and information that I didn't have!

Today was such a fun day!!! Daddy took his girls to the zoo! We got a late start because after fishing last night we didn't get up and get going until after 10am. We stopped and got chicken for lunch and then headed to Asheboro. When we got there we had a picnic lunch and went on in. Josh's got me the season pass so I can go when ever I want to this year. We walked to whole thing and saw all the animals. I'm not sure which was my favorite, I liked seeing all of them. I think Tempe enjoyed the Gorilla's most. They were right up next to the glass so we could see them really well. She just watched and watched them. After walking the zoo we went into the gift shop and she picked out a really cut baby elephant to take home with her. We stopped for milkshakes at Cook Out after leaving and then drove home. It was such a special day. Not just because we went to the zoo but because we got to spend the whole day as a family!

Tempe got here first taste of food at supper! We said our prayer:
Thank you for the food we eat
Thank you for the world so sweet
Thank you for the birds that sing
Thank you God for everything!
And then she ate her first bowl of rice cereal. She wasnt sure of it at first and it took a little whle but she must have liked it because she ate the whole bowl! I think she had a hard time knowing that the spoon didn't stay in her mouth the whole time like a bottle but she will learn. After she ate she sat at the table while mommy and daddy ate their supper, spaghetti. We are starting her out eatting at the table and staying there until we are all finished that way she will start with good manners and habits. We are also teaching her the sign for more, please, and thank you. She already knows the sign for milk and next we will work on finished and then mommy and daddy. This was just another of many first for her and a wonderful one. We are so excited to have her in our life and look forward to many more first. Because as long as there are first that means she is here with us finally!!
Oh, and after eatting she slept for the whole night!!!!
Tempe is four months old today! Wow how time flys. She went to the doctor today and has grown so much. She now weighs 11lbs and 13ozs. And is 24 inches long! Dr. Wilson was very happy. She did have to get shots though. That was hard, for us both. I dont think I have ever felt so helpless. We also took her four month/Easter pictures today. She is so pretty in her Easter dress and I cant wait to take her to the Easter egg hunt and sunrise service at church. Of course she has two different outfits! That girl has some clothes! I dont think I could ask for a better baby. She has her moments dont get me wrong. But, she sleeps through the night most nights and always puts herself to sleep in her bed in her room. She loves to play and loves to be held. And books, she LOVES books!! Right now we are just enjoying listening to her "talk" and smile. She smiles so big that she cant smile big enough. We cant wait to see what this month holds!
Wow!!! What a difference a few weeks make! Tempe is cooing, rolling, laughing, and trying to scoot so hard!!! She has really grown. She is getting little chunky monkey legs that both Josh and I love. She will be going to see Mickey and Minnie at Disney World in just a few weeks! Time is just flying by!!! We cant believe she has been here almost four months. It took such a long 5 years to get her and now that she is here it is flying by. I have been lucky to become a stay at home mommy. It was never in our plans for me to do this. Josh and I always thought I would work. I like to work. But once she came it was so hard to leave. I am loving it too. I get to spend so much more time with her and Josh. I cant imagine life working now. We are back into church full time also. We are back at Josh's childhood church where we got married. We tried a few other churches and just didnt feel welcome there like we do at Shiloh. They even came and brought Tempe a blanket after she was born! We will be having her Christened soon so keep a check on the date and time. Life is wonderful and God is good!!!!
It is only Feb. 5th and Tempe has made this a month of first! On the first she rolled over for the first time! I was cooking in the kitchen and she was playing in the living room with daddy and rolled over, twice! We havent beeen able to get her to do it again though. Tried to video it but by the time we got the video camera she was finished.
Then on the 4th she laughed out loud for the first time. She was in her swing and I was putting on her socks to go to WalMart and she got tickled and just laughed. We were able to get that on video! Afer her rolling over and not getting it we have learn to keep the camera with us. I hope to get it uploaded this weekend.
She is growing so fast. A little too fast for me. I can't wait to see what she has in store for the rest of the month. Maybe sleeping through the night!!!
